My name is Dana Scully. Once upon a time, I had a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working in a unit called the X Files. I was originally assigned to the X Files in order to debunk them, to poke holes in the theories of the man who made them his life. Instead, after nine years of seeing the impossible and the inexplicable, I became a believer in both the man and his cause.

My partners - Fox Mulder, John Doggett and Monica Reyes - and I investigated unsolved cases that the Bureau had deemed seemingly insolvable due to extraordinary evidence, or a lack thereof. Because of these unusual circumstances, we were often required to explore other, less traditional avenues in order to pursue possible explanations. Yes, it was as strange as it sounds, and I was witness to many things I still cannot explain.

Towards the end of my career, I left the X Files and was assigned to teach forensic science at Quantico. This did not completely sever my ties to the X Files, however, as I was often brought in to consult with the agents that took over the unit. Events beyond my control led to my having to leave the Bureau, and the life I knew, behind.

Now, I am forced to remain in hiding while our planet hurls towards a future that will mean the end of civilization as we know it unless we can find a way to stop it; to stop them. It is my belief, and the belief of those who share this knowledge, that we must fight. We must fight the future.
